Benni at Burnie & Babies Debut

With work commitments, puppies and a trip to Finland, our showing really has been limited this

year. But with the weather warming up and our

summer of shows ahead of us, I am looking forward to a few months of (fairly) intensive showing.

This weekend we ventured out to the gorgeous town of Sheffield for the Burnie & District Kennel Club cluster of three shows. With the imposing Mt Roland as the backdrop, Benni (Ch. Armahani Helliodorr Hulivili (ai) ET) had a fantastic series of shows, finishing with:

1 x Best Australian Bred in Show

2 x Runner-up Best Exhibit in Groups

(Group 2nd)

3 x Best Australian Bred in Group

3 x Best of Breeds

Thank you to judges Roger Bridgford, Judy Horton and Barbara Marsh for appreciating his quality. At four years of age, he really is hitting his prime. He is looking amazing and has so much confidence in the ring.

Fleur also came on an outing for the weekend. Whilst she didn't venture into the ring for breed judging, she did have a lovely time as Lillian's Junior Handlers dog. Only a Tiny Tot at the moment, Lillian turns 7 next year and is looking forward to getting into handlers 'for real'. It is school holidays this week, so they are taking some time to practise.

Fleur is rapidly getting her post-puppies coat back. She will be re-entering the ring in two weeks time, ready for Hobart Royal and the CACIB show.

In Victoria, two of Benni and Fleur's puppies have been having a ball in the ring recently. Boris (Zuleika Silver Nitrate) and his owner/handler, Jasmine Harris, have been on a steep learning curve together. Boris is Jasmine's first show dog and they are doing a fantastic job together. Jäger (Zuleika Gold Digger) made his show debut at one of Australia's largest dog shows, Melbourne Royal. And he did so well. Handled by Jacqualine Lincoln, Jäger finished second in his class, beating some much older competition. Jäger is coming to me for a short holiday in a couple of weeks time, where he will also compete at Hobart Royal and the CACIB show. I am very excited to be venturing out with a baby for the first time in many years and with something from my very first Finnish Lapphund litter.
